The Designer

Laurie Lemelin has been creating beautiful hand beaded and embroidered embellishments for many years. 5 years ago, she made an exciting jump into the film and television industry, which saw her creating pieces for period and contemporary shows, which has led to a new component of her business - Vintage clothing repair and reconstruction.

Laurie trained in Fine Art and Interior Design, making her living as an Interior Designer until 2003.  Since then she has been pursuing her passion of hand embroidery by creating wearable art clothing and accessories.

Laurie is a proud member of the Canadian Alliance of Film & Television Costume Arts & Design (CAFTCAD) where she teaches embroidery courses geared to Costume designers.   Information on courses and availability can be found at www.caftcad.com.

New projects include numerous vintage reconstruction projects for Gadabout Vintage and Ian Drummond Collection in Toronto, On.
